FAQ
What should we wear?
My suggestion for outdoor session attire is to wear comfortable layers that are weather-appropriate. Dresses or jeans with a tee shirt or buttondown, and cardigan, etc. Darker colors work better at the beach as pastels are easily washed out by the water's reflective surface and the light sand. Also, logos are distracting as are too many patterns, so let's coordinate patterns and colors to complement each other. Accent pieces like a shawl or scarf of a pretty pattern are lovely. In both cases, shoes are optional. Indoor sessions are much of the same. As you'll be in the comfort of your home, wear comfortable clothes.
What is an outdoor session like?
During your session, we'll venture outdoors where you may roam and explore. Because of this freedom, I'm able to capture moments that naturally speak volumes about personalities, familial bonds, and the simple excitement of life's discoveries—alongside the beauty of nature. I will interact with your family and gently guide posing with verbal prompts, when necessary. Otherwise, I look for organic moments and connections.
What happens during home sessions?
I arrive mid-morning, scout available light & chat session flow with you. When needed, I guide you with prompts. I observe and capture moments that speak volumes about your family. There is a simple luxury to these home sessions. Your child is in familiar surroundings, granting them comfort and security. Details are captured that wouldn't be possible anywhere else. When you reflect on these images years later, they will share, with the utmost familiarity, your story, as only photos taken in your home may. Let's chat about any activities you may do together that are fun to capture (puzzles, games, baking, etc.).
When will we get our photos?
Your will receive an online gallery link with all your photos within maximum 8 weeks (sometimes less depending on the season I photograph your story). You can download all the photos from the gallery but also share them, choose your favorites, and also order prints!
What does the session cost cover?
The pricing for each session includes our communication about session planning, the session time, office hours spent image culling and hand-editing; the online gallery; and your image files. Each gallery may take me 6+ hours to edit and get prepped for delivery.
